As we near the end of 2008, it’s a time to reflect. Today’s reflection: The Arthritis Prevention Control and Cure Act (HR 1283). Although we have come a long way to see the success of HR 1283 in the House, there are only a few key Senators in the way of this bill. As this lame duck session comes to an end, I’m left with disappointment. To me it seems simple, we need more Pediatric Rheumatologists. We need better treatments. We need a cure. Wouldn’t money now help in health care costs later? Maybe that’s why I’m not in politics, because to me it seems simple.
