Great Luncheon!

Our Commitment to a Cure lunch was held this week, and even though we were a little nervous about the change in format it went even better than I had hoped. We had a lot of new people in attendance, people who were not really familiar with our programs or services. It was great to have their attention and be able to share what we do, and to have the financial support of so many in the room. One of the most gratifying things for me was observing all the people who came up to talk to our speakers after the event. So many women had similar stories to Norma and Julie, and were eager to just talk to someone who understood what they had experienced. The two young ladies, Jessica and Jasmine, presented their stories so well in front of a crowd of strangers – they were very engaging! And I was especially proud of our own Eileen Martin, who after seven years on staff got up in front of an audience for the first time and shared how her own family has been impacted by arthritis. It was a joy to participate in the event, and we’re so grateful for all the support people provided to us.
